Oh Baby

Another baby card to share today-this one I want to share with you is a cute little baby card that could be given for either a boy or girl or even a multiple birth as there are at least four little heads in this cute stamp. image

-First I started with the colour challenge for JUGS Just Us Girls - Color Challenge #25  which is about Spring and to use the colours of light blue, light brown, yellow and light green - how much more  spring can be the new arrival of a baby- especially mice.

I started with the background and used my Fiskars embossing template to emboss the green paper with dots and the light blue background has a sort of leather grain effect but you can't really see that from this picture then I stamped my little mice from a set of Beatrix Potter stamps I bought just after Christmas using my Stazon Timber Brown ink- I used the same ink to stamp the "Baby" from Expressions - I coloured them both in with watercolour paints - I'm sorry I'm not very good at colouring but anyway then I cut them using my Nestabilities petit ovals- sorry don't remember the sizes and matched them with scalloped petit ovals for the mount on the contrasting colours- I think they look sorta cute then before I stuck them down with dimensional tape I placed a piece of gingham ribbon down and found three sweet little buttons with flowers on them or in the shape -I had tried a bow where they are but it didn't look quite right so I ditched it and put the buttons there- that didn't look right either so I cut just a short piece of ribbon and put that on under the buttons, then I added three little gems for that bit of bling. - That was better so I stuck it all down  - I'm happy with this one so that's another card for the influx of babies coming in the next month or three.

Below is a close up of Hunca Munca mouse with her babies she is one of the two bad mice Tom Thumb is the other.
